Steinway Mansion

The 1858 Italianate villa built for the founder of the Steinway piano empire still stands on a quiet Astoria block, surrounded by the modest rowhouses of the factory town he built around it. It's private property now, so you can't go inside, but the exterior alone is a strange survivor from a completely different Queens.
