Van Cortlandt House Museum

The oldest building in the Bronx, a 1748 fieldstone Georgian house that served as a headquarters for both George Washington and the British army at different points in the Revolution. It sits inside Van Cortlandt Park, and most people jogging or golfing nearby have never gone inside.
