Hell Gate Bridge View, Astoria

This steel railway arch bridge was actually the model for the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Astoria Park's northern lawn gives you the best unobstructed look at its full span crossing the churning water below. The current here is famously dangerous, which is part of what makes the crossing look so dramatic.
