The Gateway Arch (as sculpture)

Eero Saarinen's catenary curve was conceived as much as a sculpture as an engineering feat, stainless steel bent into the mathematically 'natural' arch shape a chain makes hanging between two points. It's one of the most recognizable pieces of public art in the country, whether or not people think of it that way.
